How to reset the check engine light on a ford explorer?

The simplest way to reset the check engine light on a ford explorer is to fix the component that’s causing it. this might seem simple, but it typically illuminates for a reason. with that said, there are two different ways that you should be able to make the light turn off, whether or not you’ve addressed the underlying issue. just note that if you haven’t, there’s a good chance that the light will come back on. the first way is to connect an obdii scan tool (Ford VCMII clone) and clear the trouble codes, so long as they are not permanent codes. another is to disconnect the battery for at least 10 to 15 minutes. once the power is reconnected, the light should have reset.

  1. Getting Started – Prepare for the repair.

  1. Locate OBD Port – Find the OBD port on your vehicle.

  1. Scan for Codes – How to scan your vehicle for trouble codes.
