Car model and year: 2009 Audi A6
Purpose: to replace a steering column module, so need to pull the info from the old module and dump it on a new one. The replacement module im using is used. Do i need to try and virginize it?
Device to use:
- With Autel MaxiIM IM608
Question: I’m having an issue when im trying to read the old chip. The scanner comes up and says chip unlocked failed.
How-to do next?
- On bench read and write epromm on the new and ready.
you read EPROM from the old module and save reading and then write that reading in the new module and also from the new you save a backup.
2.Autel can do with xp400 programmer, Doubles check picture, in XP400 we have 2 picture for this ezs,. Did you try to use both ?
Read mcu with programer and write data to secondhand.
Need to make sure the mask set is the same.
And yes: Always Virginize if replacing things
If you adapt used without write data you odis online or buy emulator by xhorse.
I only 1.time have do this work, i try to read mcu whit xprog 5.5 , whit new all ok, whit my lost eeprom data, at the end i payed 80€ geeko and remote working, all fine.
- if you have vvdi prog you can read old elv then write datas on new elv.
- With R270 programmer: works
Hope it helps!
