Problem:
One customer reported that he got an “Entering safe mode error” while reading EEPROM on a 2021 BMW X3 (DME Part No. 5A24 334-01) using Yanhua Mini ACDP2 and B48/B58 Bench Interface Board.
Why does this happen?
BMW started hardware-locking DMEs after 2020. Standard ACDP2 menu options like “B48 MG1CS003 SPC5777” cannot bypass this lock directly.
How to solve it:
1.Get ACDP A520 License for locked BMW DMEs activated on your device.
2.Open your software and head to:
BMW -> ECU RD/WR -> BOSCH DME -> Gxx
Look specifically for the options marked LOCK that match your engine code:
- B47 (MD1CS001 TC298TP LOCK)
- B48 (MG1CS201 TC298TP LOCK)
- B57 (MD1CP032 TC299TP LOCK)
- B58 (MG1CS024 TC298TP LOCK)
