How to Replace PCM for 2005 Honda Pilot Using Autel DS708

Equipment:
Autel MaxiDAS DS708

Car Information:
2005 Honda Pilot

Preparation:

Connect DS708 Main Unit with 2005 Honda Pilot via Honda adapter.
Boot up DS708 device;
Insert the key and turn ignition ON.

Now, let’s come to PCM replacing procedure step by step:

Step 1: Replace ECM/PCM – Read/Write.
Enter into Main Groups interface;
Select Control Unit >> PGM FI >> REPLACE ECM/PCM;
Autel will read engine oil life data from ECM/PCM. Select Yes.

Click OK to proceed;

Step 2: VIN Check / Write VIN
Enter into function Menu;
Select VIN CHECK;
Pop out message as below:

The VIN has been written;

Click OK to proceed;

Step 3: Verify VIN was entered correctly.
Select Vehicle ID Number;
Check VIN, whether it is correct.

Step 4: Immobilizer – SYNC key code.
Enter into System Menu;
Select IMMOBI;
Select IMMOBILIER SETUP;
Select REPLACE ECM/PCM (In the Model Menu);
Pop out Immobilizer information;

Click OK to proceed, come out message reading “The registration of immobilizer codes into the immobilizer unit has been completed. Turn the ignition switch off”.

Step 5: PCM reset
Select PGM FI (In the System Menu);
Select ECM/PCM RESET (In the Function Menu);

Step6: CKP learn for misfire baseline.
Select CRANK (CKP) PATTERN (In the Adjustment interface);
Select CRANK (CKP) PATTERN CLEAR;

Pop out information reading as follows:

Click Ok;
CKP Pattern learning has completed;
Click Ok to go back to Live Data interface;

Step 7: Idle LEARN
Idle the car for 10 minutes with no loads;
Turn key off for one minute.
